SHREVEPORT, La. – Centenary women’s soccer dropped a 4-0 decision on Sunday afternoon to Austin College. The Ladies fall to 1-9 on the season and 0-4 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

AJ Walsh led the Maroon and White with two of its six goals on the day. Carly Slovensky, Marissa Hughes, MK Robertson and Chelsea Russell each posted an attempt in the contest with Slovensky, Robertson, Walsh and Russell all placing shots on goal.

Erica Coker was saddled with the loss in the decision recording five saves in the full 90 minutes of action. The sophomore faced 19 shots from Austin College, including nine on goal. Tyler Marquez attempted seven shots to lead AC.

The Roos added two goals in each half to secure the victory and move to 5-4 overall and 1-2 in the SCAC. Ashley Rice and Erin Eckart provided AC’s two goals in the first 45 minutes with Rice connecting on a shot from Mandi Sherwood from seven feet out in the 11’. Eckart recorded her score in the 27’ to give the Roos a 2-0 at the break. Sherwood and Marquez added insurance scores in the final 20 minutes of the outing.

Franchesca Lozoya claimed the win in goal with four saves on the day in the shutout.

Centenary returns to action on Friday, Oct. 3 as they travel to Trinity. Match is slated for 8 p.m.
