Ladies finish ninth at Al Jones Jr. Memorial Tournament

TYLER, Texas – The Centenary women’s golf team finished ninth at the Al Jones Jr. Memorial Tournament with a two-day score of 744. The Ladies fired a 369 in the final round bettering their opening score by six strokes.

Jamie Wright led Centenary with a 161 for the two days. Wright shot an 82 in the final round to finish in ninth for the tournament.

Gabrielle Ford finished tied for 34th with a two-day score of 181. Ford shot a 92 in the final round. Taylor Thompson finished just a stroke back of Ford for the tournament. Thompson shot a 91 on the final day to finish tied for 36th overall.

Haley Nidey and Toni Collaro rounded out the team scoring for the Maroon and White. Nidey finished 43rd with a combined 220 after shooting a 104 on the final day while Collaro was 44th with a two-day score of 252 after posting a 125 in the final round.

The University of Texas at Tyler claimed the top team spot with a 608 along with Laura Lindsey (148), Taylor Sloane (151) and Jordan Sloane (154) claiming individual medalists honors.

Centenary returns to the links on Oct. 5 in Birmingham, Ala., as part of the Birmingham Southern Tournament.
