SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Centenary men’s soccer team fell 5-0 at No. 3 Trinity University on Friday evening as the Gents move to 4-5-2 overall while the Tigers move to 10-1.

The Maroon and White faced a stout TU defense that held the squad to just a pair shots in the contest. Michael Pullano and Gabriel Zahm took the two attempts for the Gents with Pullano placing his on target.

Rylan Whan took the loss for Centenary in goal for the Gents recording 14 saves in the decision. The reigning, Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Defender of the Week faced 39 shots with 19 placed on goal.

Johnny Lawson accounted for three of the Tigers’ five scores in the contest. Lawson recorded the hat trick with goals in the 58’, 62’ and 68’. The three scores placed TU up 4-0 as Victor Araujo posted the first Trinity score in the 49’. Ryan Lord added the final goal in the 82’.

Matt Cardone, one of two Tigers keepers in the match, played 74:21 minutes in net and recorded one save in the win.

Centenary returns to action on Sunday, Sept. 5 as the Gents travel to Southwestern University. Kick is slated for 1 p.m.
