GEORGETOWN, Texas – The Centenary women’s soccer team was nipped in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action as the Ladies (1-11, 0-6 SCAC) fell to Southwestern University on Sunday afternoon. The Pirates improved to 4-7, 4-1 in conference play in the outing.

After playing 79 minutes of scoreless soccer, SU’s Mackenzie Millican took an assist from Krysta Maples to score the only goal of the game and lift the Pirates to the decision.

Centenary posted four shots on the day with Madison Alexnader, Carly Slovensky, Marissa Hughes and Chelsea Russell each tallying an attempt in the effort.

Millican Angel Grayson each recorded three shots on the day as the Black and Gold registered 14 shots in the contest including five on goal.

Erica Coker and Lauren Cullen split time in net for the Ladies. The duo combined for four saves in net in the setback.

Katherine Rodgers took the win in goal for the Pirates in the complete-game performance.

Centenary returns to action on Friday, Oct. 11 as they host No. 3 Trinity. Match time is slated for 8 p.m.
