SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary volleyball team returned to the Gold Dome to open a four-game homestand with a 3-0 loss to Mississippi College. The Ladies move to 2-20 on the season while MC improves to 5-16.

The Choctaws opened with a 25-16 victory in the first set and expanded their lead to 2-0 with a 25-9 second set effort. Centenary posted a struggle in the final set, but the Blue and Gold closed out the match winning 25-22.

Desiree Frey paced the Maroon and White with 14 kills. Rachel Perkins and Allison Lazewski each totaled double-digit assists with Perkins garnering a team-leading 13 and Lazewski adding 10 in the match. Lindsey Long and Haley Cubberly alongside Frey posted seven digs each in the defensive effort.

A pair of Choctaws recorded double figure kills with Kayana Mitchell leading the way with 12. Taylor Edwards added 10 kills. Sydney Chandler dished out 26 assists in the effort for MC while Krista Zieschang and Holly Tupper each recorded double-digit digs with 11 and 14 respectively.

Centenary returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 21 as they host Belhaven and Jarvis Christian in a tri-meet.
