SHERMAN, Texas – The Centenary women’s soccer team was blanked on Sunday afternoon as the Ladies fell 2-0 at Austin College in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

Centenary attempted five shots in the outing with Marissa Hughes taking three attempts including two of the three placed on goal. Madison Alexander and Hannah Bate each logged shots with Alexander’s attempt placed on target.

Cami Mavelin and Tyler Marquez recorded the two scores for the Roos both coming in the final 45 minutes. Marquez led AC with seven of the team’s 20 attempts in the affair. Mandi Sherwood tallied five attempts.

Erica Coker received the loss for the Ladies in net. The sophomore garnered eight saves in the full 90 minutes of action.

Franchesca Lozoya claimed the win for the Roos with recording three saves in just over 69 minutes of action. Laura McGee played the final 20-plus minutes in goal.

Centenary returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 21 as they host Louisiana College. Kick is slated for 5 p.m.
