Gents take UAM Fall Classic Crown; Gibson wins Individual Title

SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary men’s golf team picked the team title at the University of Arkansas at Monticello Fall Classic with a two-day total of 611 besting Division II member Southern Arkansas by four strokes for the crown. Jamie Gibson and Hank Strickler took home the top two individual honors as the duo each shot a 148.

Gibson was crowned individual champion following a three-hole, sudden death playoff with Strickler. Each posted identical marks of 74 in the final round to match their opening round scores and lead the Maroon and White for the Classic. The 148 for Strickler marked his best two-round score of the fall season.

Reese Chance finished tied for seventh for the Classic. Chance shot a 76 in the final round to match his previous day score for a 152 overall.

Larry Balthazar finished 24th for the Gents with a 166 for the tournament. Balthazar fired an 84 in the final round to pair with his 82 in the opening round. Cory Costanza finished tied for 33rd with a 173. Costanza bettered his score in the final round by 11 strokes with an 81 on the final day.

Graham Maxwell competed as a individual and finished tied for 41st with a 181 for the tournament after shooting an 86 in the final round.

George Adams from SAU finished third in the individual standings with a 149 for the tournament. Christian Brothers finished third in the team standings with a 629 for the two days.
