SHREVEPORT, La. – For the first time since the 2011 season the Centenary volleyball team has claimed its third consecutive match as the Ladies (5-20) downed Dallas Christian College 3-1 on Wednesday evening in the Gold Dome. The victory sends the Maroon and White’s two seniors off the home floor on a three-game streak.

Rachel Perkins posted a double-double with a team-best 14 kills and 18 assists – which ranked second the team. Desiree Frey added 13 kills while Allison Lazewski dished out a team-leading 20 assists in the match.

Haley Cubberly led the defensive unit for the Ladies garnering 10 digs in the victory.

The two squads fought to a deadlock through the opening two sets, but in the third set Centenary rallied back for a 25-14 win to take a 2-1 advantage. The Crusaders wouldn’t go lightly in the contest as DCC held its own in the final set, but it wasn’t enough as Centenary claimed the match with a 25-21 win behind winning the final four points.

Centenary posted an attack percentage of .221 for the contest which is the fourth best attack percentage of the season and the third straight of .200-plus.

Na'Qwavian Nelson led the Cruaders with 14 kills. Britany Curiel dished out 24 assists with 10 digs. Jonae Thompson added 12 digs in the effort.

Centenary returns to action on Sequin, Texas, for the second Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Cross-Divisional at Texas Lutheran.
