SEGUIN, Texas – The Centenary women’s volleyball team concluded Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action on Sunday with a pair of straight set losses to Texas Lutheran and Schreiner University in the final SCAC Cross-Divisional.

The Maroon and White fell 25-21, 28-26, 25-19 in the match against Schreiner after dropping a 25-15, 25-11, 25-17 outing against the host Bulldogs.

Rachel Perkins and Desiree Frey paced the Ladies’ offense in the second match of the day. Perkins recorded eight kills while Frey tallied nine kills. The duo also led the on the defensive end as Frey garnered 12 digs and Perkins chimed in 10 digs.

Perkins also dished out 13 assists –for a double-double in the match – which tied her for the team lead with Allison Lazewski, who finished with 29 assists for the two matches. Frey finished the day with 12 kills and 13 digs in the combined six sets.

In the opener, Chelsea Petska and Kadija Diawara led Centenary offensively. Petska led the way with six kills while Diawara added five kills in the three sets. Haley Cubberly guided the defensive effort with 16 of her 21 digs for the two matches against TLU.

Centenary returns to action on Friday, Oct. 31 as the Ladies take part in three matches in Kerrville, Texas at the Schreiner University Tournament. The Ladies open with McMurry at 4 p.m. and conclude the two-day event with College of the Southwest at 12:30 p.m. and the host Mountaineers at 5:30 p.m.
