Amaya named All-SCAC

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Centenary’s Ivann Amaya was named to the 2014 All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Second Team as announced by the conference office on Friday. Amaya is one of 25 members named to the all-conference squad, voted on by the conference's head coaches.

Amaya led the Gents with six goals in his debut season with the Maroon and White which was eighth in the SCAC. The Huntsville, Texas, native logged one game-winner on the season in Centenary’s first conference win of the season against Dallas.

The freshman was tied for third on the team in assists. He totaled 13 points on the season which stood tied for 10th in the league, averaging 0.93 points per contest this season. Amaya posted a 61.5 on-goal percentage with 16 of his 26 attempts being placed on target.

Amaya becomes the first Gent since Zachary Kidder and Spencer Nickerson to be named to the All-SCAC Team as Kidder and Nickerson were named to the second team in 2012.

Centenary concluded its season with a 4-12-3 record and 1-10-3 in the SCAC.
