LAKE CHARLES, La. – The Centenary women’s basketball team dropped an 86-35 decision on Wednesday evening at Division I McNeese State. The loss moves the Ladies to 0-9 on the season while the Cowgirls improve to 5-2 on the campaign.

Centenary was led by Briana Edwards and Haley Deshautelle. The duo each scored a team-best seven points in the outing while Edwards grabbed a team-leading 10 rebounds in the contest. The 10 boards marks the third outing this season with double-digit rebounds for the Shreveport, La., native.

The Ladies were held to just 25 percent shooting from the field and from behind the arc, but posted a season-best 83.3 clip from the free-throw line in the decision.

Freshman Hannah Kimbrough recorded her first collegiate points in the outing coming in final seconds of the contest.

Allison Baggett paced the Cowgirls with 26 points while Amber Donnes and Talisa Boyd each grabbed a team-best seven rebounds..

MSU shot 44 percent from the field, but were held to 4-for-24 from behind the arc. The Blue and Gold was also 50 percent from the charity stripe.

Centenary returns to action on Tuesday, Dec. 30 as they host Hendrix College. Tip is slated for 4 p.m.
