SEGUIN, Texas – The Centenary women’s basketball team dropped a 97-56 decision on Friday evening at Texas Lutheran in Memorial Gym. The Ladies fall to 0-13 on the season and 0-3 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action while TLU evened its record at 6-6 and 1-1 in conference play.

Briana Edwards became the program’s leader in blocked shots with 107 as the junior notched her 33rd rejection of the season in the outing. The Shreveport, La., product bests a record held by Leslie Forest who played at Centenary from 2006-10.

Rebecca Thompson led the Maroon and White with 15 points and grabbed a team-best nine rebounds – missing her third double-double of the season - in the outing. DeiAnna Hall joined the Minden, La., native in double figures with 10 points.

A trio of Bulldogs tallied double figures in scoring led by Savannah Hight’s 14 points. Karisa Cantu added 11 points with Olivia Marzullo supplying 10 points. Kristen Lye grabbed a team-leading eight rebounds to accompany her eight points.

TLU, which was paced by 70 points from its bench, jumped out to an early lead in the contest and never looked back. The Black and Gold posted 50 of its 97 points in the paint.

Centenary returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 10 as they travel to Southwestern University. Tip is slated for 4 p.m.
