SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Briana Edwards led the Centenary women’s basketball team with her sixth double-double of the season as the Ladies fell 86-35 to Trinity University on Friday evening.

Edwards posted 12 points and 12 rebounds in the effort marking her fourth straight double-digit scoring effort and 11th of the season.

Centenary faced a stout effort from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference’s top team. The Tigers held a 46-16 advantage in points in the paint and forced 28 Centenary turnovers and capitalized with 37 points. The Maroon and White connected on just 24.6 percent from the floor including a 26.3 clip from the three-point line.

Monica Holgiun and Rebecca Gordon tied for the top scoring spot for Trinity with 12 points each. Five Tigers tied for tops on the team with five rebounds.

Trinity finished the night shooting 44.6 percent from field including a 41.7 clip from behind the arc. The Tigers were 71.4 percent from the charity stripe.

Centenary returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 24 as the team travels to Schreiner University. Tip is slated for 4 p.m.
