Ladies post season-high score at TWU quad-meet

DENTON, Texas – The Centenary gymnastics team posted a season score of 188.925 to finish fourth in a quad-meet at Texas Woman’s University along with San Jose State and Towson.

The Ladies recorded team season-high scores on the bars (46.850) and floor exercise (48.125) and tied a season mark on beam (47.150) en route to its best scoring performance of the season.

Sylvia Keiter recorded season bests in all four events to lead the Maroon and White with a score of 38.250 while finishing seventh in all-around. Keiter tabbed 9.6-plus scores in bars (9.650), beam (9.625) and floor (9.650).

Ashley White tied a season-high on vault with a score of 9.6 as she finished eighth in all-around with a 37.450. Allison Scates set a season-best with a 9.550 on bars to round out the three Ladies competing in all-around with a final score of 37.000.

Megan Desjardins boasted season-highs on the beam (9.750), to finish tied for second in the event, and floor (9.600). Kellie Slater posted a 9.625 on vault as the Ladies’ top competitor in the event and finished 14th.

San Jose State claimed the meet with a 194.375 while Towson finished second with 194.125. The host Pioneers posted a 193.150 to finish third.

Centenary hosts the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Friday, Feb. 6. Meet is slated for 5:30 p.m.
