GymTalk: Noel Stubbs
Tuesday, February 10, 2015

Hey Ladies gym fans! This is senior Noel Stubbs coming to you from Ames, Iowa with my first gym talk of the year! I’m so excited to share with you guys what we have been up to!

This weekend has been a busy one for us Ladies. This was our first weekend of the season where we had two meets in one weekend! On Friday was our breast cancer awareness meet where we had our season high performance in the Dome with a 190.375! Freshman Ashley White and Senior captain Sylvia Keiter came out on top with first place and second place all-around finishes! We made some big strides up-grading routines and putting together some fantastic vaults! We also saw Natalie Humbert and Ronni Bear on the competition floor for the first time, both are coming back from injury and it was so exciting to see them back out there. Big shout out to our Beam Battle Squad hitting 6 in a row beam routines!!!!

The Centenary Ladies would like to thank Zeta Tau Alpha for all of their help in hosting a fantastic breast cancer meet! They took on a lot of the pre-meet planning, decorated the gym and worked tirelessly during the meet to make it not only an educational event but fun for our fans and to make a little money towards breast cancer research!  We would also like to thank and congratulate our honorary coach and breast cancer survivor Tina Feldt!

Coming off of a great home meet the next day we were headed to Ames, Iowa to take on the Iowa State Cyclones. Taking on a tough team like Iowa State the Ladies were able to stay in our C-unit and nail warm-ups which is something we have been trying to improve on! Although we had a few mistakes during the meet, we fought until the end despite the tough judging we had! This weekend was a great experience for us because for the remainder of the season we have a few more double meet weekends.

This week we will only be in the gym for two days and then we are off to St. Charles, Missouri for the Gym Quarters Invitational! Stay tuned for next week’s gym talk! Thank you for supporting your Ladies! We love you all!
