Gents third, Ladies fourth at second day of SCAC Swimming Championships.

ROCKWALL, Texas – Following the second day of competition at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships, the Gents are in third with 199 points while the Ladies sit in fourth with 156 points.

The women’s 200-yard freestyle relay team of Caitlyn Faulhaber, Jane Barney, Kayla Thornhill and Chelsea Russell finished fifth with a time of 1:43.89 while the men’s 200-free relay squad of Beau Montgomery, Arash Ataei, Mason Kay and Zack Harrison posted a time of 1:26.49 to finish fourth in the event.

In the women’s 500-yard freestyle, Alex Taylor and Thornhill finished seventh and eighth respectively . Taylor posted a time of 5:25.55 while Thornhill tallied a 5:27.04. Russell added a fifth place finish in the women’s 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:14.34.

In the men’s 200-yard IM, Anthony McDonald recorded a time of 1:56.01 to place him in fifth in the event while Juan Tapia finished eighth with a time of 1:57.63.

The Gents posted their final time of the evening in the championship finals as Kay finished seventh in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.79.

Centenary returns to action on Friday, Feb. 13 in the third day of the Championships, which concludes on Saturday.
