MARSHALL, Texas – The Centenary baseball team dropped a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at East Texas Baptist to fall to 1-5 on the season while ETBU improved to 4-2 on the season.

The Tigers claimed the opening outing 5-4 in 12 innings and followed with a 10-7 win in the second contest.

Aaron Quintanilla paced the Gents at the dish going 5-for-10 in the twinbill. Ian Graham added a 3-of-7 day at the plate with a pair of RBI while Brooks Williams went 4-for-11 with a RBI. Kody Carson led the Maroon and White with three RBI in the effort with a pair of hits.

The Centenary pitching staff ran into a solid, offensive effort from the Blue and Gold. ETBI amassed 15 runs – 12 earned – on 25 hits. Opening game starter, Holden Novak tossed 5.1 innings allowing three runs on seven hits. Jake McFarland tossed 2.1 frames in the second affair surrendering five runs on seven hits. Neither recorded a decision.

Centenary returns to action on Tuesday, Feb. 17 at the University of Texas at Tyler.
