Gents finish third, Ladies fourth at SCAC Championships

ROCKWALL, Texas – The Centenary swim teams completed the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships with the Gents in third with 549 points while the Ladies finished fourth with 313 points.

Anthony McDonald and Chelsea Russell recorded the highest finishes for the two squads. Russell finished third in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:06.27 while McDonald added a third place finish in the 200 breastsroke with a time of 2:10.81.

Kellen Bullock and Erick Norem posted sixth and seventh finishes in the men’s 200 breaststroke. Bullock recorded a time of 2:13.57 while Norem added a time of 2:14.82.

Russell joined Caitlyn Faulhaber, Kayla Thornhill and Jane Barney to finish fourth in the 400-freestyle relay with a time of 3:45.98. Beau Montgomery, Arash Ataei, Andrew Borel and Zack Harrison teamed to post a fourth place finish in the men’s 400-free relay with a time of 3:11.59.

Alex Taylor added a fourth place finish in the women’s 1650 freestyle with a time of 18:21.13.

Juan Tapia added a fifth place finish on the men’s side with a time of 1:57.59 in the 200 butterfly while Robert Roig-Perez posted a time of 1:58.27 to finish the event in sixth. Barney finished seventh in the women’s 200-fly with a time of 2:32.14.

Collin Baker recorded a sixth place finish in the men’s 1650 free with a time of 17:07.69 while Borel added an eighth place finish in the men’s 200 back with a 2:00.30.
