Gibson wins Georgetown College Invite; Gents finish second

St. Augustine, Fla. – The Centenary men’s golf team finished second at the Georgetown College Invite shooting a score of 618 – one stroke back of Emmanuel College (Ga.). The Gents fired a 305 to lead after day one and finished the invite with a 313 in the final round.

Jamie Gibson claimed the individual crown with a two-day score of 148. The Barnsley, England, native  fired a round best 71 on the final day – besting his previous round best of 73 recorded three times during the fall season. Gibson opened the invite with a 77.

Reese Chance finished third for the Gents with a score of 151. Chance shot a season-best 72 in the opening round and followed with a 79 in the final round en route to his season-best score. Larry Balthazar finished tied for sixth for the Maroon and White after shooting a 156 for the two-day event with a 76 and 80.

Cory Constanza fired score of 80 and 83 to finish tied for 13th. Constanza finished with a two-day score of 163 – his second best score of the season. John Sidery rounded out the Gents’ scores as he finished 32nd with score of 88 and 96.

Centenary returns to action on Monday, Mar. 23 in the first round of the Hal Sutton Invitational at Golf Club at StoneBridge in Bossier City, La.
