Stubbs wins vault; Ladies fall at SEMO

Cape Girardeau, Mo. – The Centenary gymnastics team fell 191.050-187.600 at Southeast Missouri State University on Friday evening in front of a crowd of 500-plus at Houck Field House.

Noel Stubbs garnered the Ladies lone event win with a score of 9.750 on vault. The score marked a season-high for the senior. Teammate Ashley White finished third in the event with a score of 9.650. The score was the first of two, top three-finishes for White on the night as the freshman recorded a 9.700 on floor to lead the Maroon and White.

Kellie Slater finished third on beam to pace the Maroon and White in the event as Allison Scates recorded a fourth place finish. Slater tallied a 9.625 while Scates, who finished fourth in all-around with a 37.375, added a 9.600.

White, who finished third in all-around with a score of 38.100, recorded the top finish for the Ladies on bars with a 9.675, which was sixth overall.

The squad posted scores of 47.375 on vault, 47.050 on bars, 46.600 on beam and 46.575 on floor.

Centenary returns to action on Friday, March 13 as the Ladies host nationally-ranked LSU and the University of New Hampshire. Meet time is slated for 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for children and will be sold at the gates that open at 5:30 p.m.
