Ladies finish fifth at TaylorMade-adidas Intercollegiate

BEAUMONT, S.C. – The Centenary women’s golf team finished fifth at the TaylorMade-adidas Intercollegiate with a final total of 744 after shooting a 374 in the final round. Taylor Thompson led the Ladies with a 162.

Thompson finished fourth overall and tied her season-best, two-day score set at Birmingham Southern earlier this season. The Baton Rouge, La., native shot an 84 in the final round to pair with her 78 in the first round.

Jamie Wright finished 10th with a score of 168. Wright improved her first round by four strokes with an 82 on the final day. Gabrielle Ford finished 25th after shooting a 92 in the final round for a two-day score of 189.

Haley Nidey and Toni Collaro rounded out the Centenary group. Nidey posted a score of 225 after shooting a 116 in the final round to finish 36th. Collaro improved her stroke by nine with a 118 in the final round for a two-day score of 245.

Wittenberg won the Intercollegiate with a final score of 665. Bridgewater finished second with a 674 while Washington and Lee, who led after the first round, posted a 675 to finish third.

Washington and Lee’s Caroline Holloway claimed the individual title with a 156 while teammate Liza Freed finished third with a 158. Bridgewater’s Chrstina Herbert finished second with a 157.

Centenary returns to the links on Mar. 23 in the Hal Sutton Invitational at the Golf Club at StoneBridge in Bossier City, La.
