White named MIC Gymnast of the Week

DENTON, Texas – Centenary’s Ashley White was named Midwest Independent Conference Gymnast of the Week for her efforts in the two meets last weekend in the Gold Dome, as announced by the conference.

All votes are cast by the SIDs of the MIC.

White garnered her fifth all-around title of the season in a tri-meet that included nationally-ranked Louisiana State University and the University of New Hampshire with a score of 38.70. The freshman followed with a career-high score of 39.025 two days later against UNH to finish second in all-around.

In the meet against UNH, she tallied a career-high on bars with a 9.825, to finish tied for the event title, and tied her career marks on beam with a 9.725 and floor with a 9.80. 

White helped Centenary to back-to-back season-high team scores.  The Ladies recorded a 192.175 in the tri-meet and bested the mark against UNH with a 193.775.

White’s accolade marks the first for the Ladies since former USA Gymnastics All-American Robyn Price received the honor on Feb. 28, 2013.

Centenary returns to competition on Saturday, Mar. 21 as the Ladies compete in the MIC Championships.
