Ladies post 190.875 at MICs; Slater named All-MIC on Floor

DENTON, Texas – For the third straight meet, the Centenary gymnastics team posted a team score of 190-plus with a 190.875 at the Midwest Independent Conference Championship on the campus of Texas Woman’s University. The team score placed the Ladies in sixth at the championship.

The Maroon and White registered 11 career-high marks on the night, including a pair from Allison Scates and Ashley White.

The Ladies recorded five career-bests on floor en route to a season-high team score of 49.050. Kellie Slater was the top finisher in the event with a 9.850 as she tied for fifth. Sylvia Keiter and Scates finished tied for 13th as both recorded a score of 9.825. Jordan Anderson tied 19th with a score of 9.80 while Saxon Reaux added a score of 9.775 – tied for 23rd. All five scores mark career-highs White also posted a 9.775 to tie with Reaux.

Centenary also added career-marks on vault to lead to a season-high score of 48.550. The Ladies picked up career-highs from Noel Stubbs with a 9.85 as she finished tied for ninth to lead the squad. White added a score of 9.80 to finish tied for 13th while Scates was 25th with a score of 9.70 and Natalie Humbert in 26th with a score of 9.650. Taylor LeMoal added a season-high score of 9.55 to finish 33rd.

Megan Desjardins finished tied for 13th on beam with a career-high 9.75, as Slater led the team on beam with a score of 9.775 in a tie for 11th. White also added a score of 9.650 or better with a 9.70 to finish tied for 18th.

White finished seventh in all-around with a career-high score of 38.925 while Scates was 10th with a 37.575.

Prior to the meet, Desjardins, Le Moal, Kaitlyn Mussio, Scates, Slater, Stephanie Strickler and Stubbs were honored by being named to the MIC All-Scholar Team.
