SHERMAN, Texas – A Christian Sebastien RBI-double in the 10th inning clinched a 6-5 win for the Centenary baseball team as the Gents rallied to defeat Austin College and to move to 9-10 on the season and 5-2 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action.

The hit was the second of the game for Sebastien along with his second RBI. Kody Carson reached on a two-out single to setup the go-ahead run.

Chris Zapata led the squad with three hits and two RBI in the outing to join Sebastien with the only multi-hit performances for the Gents. Brooks Williams joined the duo for the team lead in RBI with two.

Taylor Henry (2-1) gathered his second straight win of the season on the mound. Henry tossed three-scoreless and hitless frames as he recorded five strikeouts and allowed two walks in relief.

Centenary trailed 5-3 heading into the eighth inning, but the Maroon and White garnered a pair of runs to the knot the contest at 5-all. Sebastien recorded his first RBI on a groundout that scored Zapata. Aaron Quintanilla became the tying run as he crossed the dish on a Brook Williams’ fielder’s choice.

Gents’ starter Holden Novak pitched 1.2 innings and allowed four runs on four hits with two strikeouts and four walks. Kaleb Kirk followed with 5.1 frames in relief with five strikeouts and two hits allowed along with an unearned run.

Centenary returns to action on Saturday, March 28 as it visits the Roos for a doubleheader. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m.
