SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The Centenary softball team dropped a doubleheader at Trinity University on Saturday afternoon. The Ladies (7-22, 4-16 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference) fell 9-1 and 9-0 in the two outings.

Anna Dunn paced the Maroon and White at the dish going 2-for-4 on the day with a RBI. Centenary managed six hits total in the pair of affairs. Emily Sexton and Haley Miller logged a hit each in the opener as Hannah Smith and Carissa Herndon tallied a hit in the second outing.

In the first contest, TU jumped on the board with five runs in its first two trips to the plate. Centenary added its lone run in the top of the third as Dunn singled to score Miller. The Tigers added four runs in the bottom of the fourth to notch the eight-run win.

In the second outing, the Ladies committed four miscues and allowed nine hits to assist Trinity in its run total. The Tigers plated three runs in the second and exploded for six in the third to capture to shutout win.

Codi Coghlan (4-2) and Melanie Wilson (1-3) took the losses in the circle. Coghlan allowed three runs on four hits in 1.1 frames in the second contest while Wilson surrendered five runs on six hits in the first game of the day in 1.2 innings.

Centenary returns to action on Tuesday, April 14 as it travels to LeTourneau University. First pitch of the doubleheader is slated for 4 p.m.
