Netters fall in matches over the weekend

SEGUIN, Texas – The Centenary tennis teams dropped a pair of matches over the weekend as both squads dropped 9-0 decisions at Southwestern and Texas Lutheran.

Against SU, the Ladies picked up points from Katelyn Alexander who fell 6-1, 6-1 in singles play and logged a point paired with Katie Cornwell in doubles before falling 8-1. On the men’s side, Stafford Lyons fell 6-2, 6-2 in singles while Kane Kershaw and Chris Matthews fell 6-1, 6-0. Borel and Lyons dropped an 8-1 decision in doubles play.

In Saturday’s match against the Bulldogs, Cornwell recorded the only points with a 6-0, 6-1 setback in singles play. The Gents, Lyons garnered the only points as he fell 6-0, 6-1 in singles.

The Gents return to the court on Wednesday, April, 15 against Dallas Baptist as the Ladies host Austin College on Saturday, April, 18.
