SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary baseball team dropped a 6-1 decision on Tuesday evening at Louisiana State University-Shreveport. The Pilots improved to 33-10 on the season while the Maroon and White fell to 17-13.

The Pilots plated a run in the bottom of the second and added two runs in the fourth and three in the fifth for insurance.

The Gents scored their lone run in the top of the ninth as Michael Schimpf logged one of his two hits on the evening to leadoff the frame. The Shreveport, La., native later scored as Kody Carson recorded a RBI single. The duo accounted for the Maroon and White’s three hits on the day.

Matt Posey (1-1) tossed a career-high 4.2 innings in the loss on the bump. Posey, who made his first start of the season, allowed five runs – three earned – on eight hits. The hurler walked six and fanned five in the outing.
