Men's Golf finishes 13th at Rhodes-Mirimichi Spring Classic

MILLINGTON, Tenn. – The Centenary men’s golf team finished 13th at the Rhodes-Mirimichi Spring Classic with a two-day score of 476 after shooting a 160 in the final round. Due to weather, the second round was reduced to nine holes.

Jamie Gibson led the Gents with 115 for the two rounds. Gibson posted a 39 in the abbreviated final round to finish tied for 28th. Reese Chance was a stroke back of Gibson after shooting a 38 in the final round. Chance finished tied for 35th.

Cory Constanza completed the two-day event tied for 61st with a score of 122. Constanza posted a 42 in the final round. Larry Balthazar totaled a 41 in the final round to post a score of 123 overall and finish 63rd. Jeffrey Scott rounded out the Gents’ squad with a 127 for the tournament to finish 67th. Scott posted a 42 in the final round.

Wittenburg University garnered the team title with a 436 for the two days. Rhodes finished second just two strokes back of WU while McMurry finished third with a 443. Rhodes’ Chris Harris along with Millsaps’ Ryan Martin finished with a 105 for tops in the tournament. RC’s Conor Pocino, Scott Hamel, , Spalding’s Jonathon Gandia and McMurry’s Matt Porter and Mitchel Fagan tied for third with a score of 107.

Centenary returns to the links on Monday, April 21 at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships. The event will be held at the Valeer Creek Golf Club in Blanco, Texas. For more information please visit:
