SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary softball team concluded the 2015 season as the Ladies (7-26, 4-20) dropped a doubleheader to No. 19 Texas Lutheran on Sunday afternoon. TLU improved to 32-1 overall and an unblemished 23-0 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

The Maroon and White were held to just 12 hits on the day with eight coming in the opener. Michelle Tasin and Emily Sexton provided the multiple hit efforts for the Ladies. Tasin went 2-for-4 in the opening outing while Sexton was 2-for-2 in the finale.

Centenary kept the nationally-ranked Bulldogs within reach in the first outing as it trailed 7-3 through five frames. The biggest blow for the Ladies came on a two-run homerun by Carissa Herndon in the fourth to score Tasin. The freshman followed up in next bat with a sacrifice fly to center to score Anna Dunn.

The Black and Gold, however, retaliated with a combined six runs in its next two trips to the plate to extend its lead and claim the 10-run victory.

In the final contest, the Ladies’ bats were stymied garnering just four hits in the five innings. TLU, which scored a run in each trip to the plate, amassed 15 hits and capitalized on six Centenary miscues.

Haley Miller (4-7) and Laura Perilloux (2-12) were saddled with the losses in the circle. Miller allowed just five earned runs on 15 hits in the complete-game opener. Perilloux tossed 3.1 frames with only five earned runs allowed on 11 hits.
