Men's Golf finishes fifth at SCAC Championships

BLANCO, Texas – The Centenary men’s golf team finished fifth at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships. The Gents posted a three-round score of 945 after shooting a 325 in the final round.

Jamie Gibson led the Maroon and White with a 225 for the Championships. Gibson shot a 77 in the final round to finish tied for 11th overall. Larry Balthazar finished in 19th with a 231 for the tournament after an 82 in the final round. Reese Chance finished a stroke back of Balthazar in a tie for 20th. Chance shot his best round of the Championships with a 76.

Cory Costanza shot a 90 in the final round to garner a three-round score of 257 and finish 26th. Jeffrey Scott finished in 27th with a 280 for the tournament. Scott posted a final round score of 93.

Schreiner University finished as the SCAC Champion with an 879. Trinity University posted a 890 in second with Southwestern University in third with an 892.

Texas Lutheran’s Adam Peterson claimed the top individual honor with a 214 for the three rounds. Connor Murphy fired a 215 for Southwestern to finished second. Trinity’s Redmond Lyons and Schreiner’s Jimmy Keener finished tied for third with a score of 218.
