SHREVEPORT, La. – As the quest for the 2015 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship begins, Centenary’s Mike Diaz continues to add accolades to his coaching career at the helm of the Gents baseball program.

Diaz, now the program’s fourth winningest head coach with 103 career victories, grabbed his 100th victory in a 2-1 decision at Southwestern earlier this season. Centenary’s fifth-year skipper entered the 2015 campaign with 81 wins and has led the Maroon and White to a 22-15 mark, including a 15-3 record in the SCAC en route to the conference’s regular season title and the top seed in the upcoming conference tournament.

Diaz has reached the 100-win plateau the third fastest in program history, sitting behind Centenary legends Andy Watson and James Farrar. Watson, who is second in career wins, recorded 134 wins in his first five seasons, while Farrar, who is third in career wins, garnered 140 through the same span.

Centenary opens the 2015 SCAC Baseball Championships on Friday, May 1 against Southwestern University. First pitch is slated for noon at Shehee Stadium.
