SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary College Athletic Department and Director of Athletics and Wellness Ronda Seagraves announced the resignation of Amanda Nordberg as the Ladies softball coach on Friday (July 10).

“Centenary wishes to thank coach Amanda Nordberg for what she has done for the Ladies softball team over the past two seasons.  We wish her the best of luck as she moves on in her coaching career,” Seagraves said. “Centenary College will conduct a national search to fill our head coaching vacancy with a qualified and dynamic coach who will take over the reins of the Centenary Ladies softball program and continue moving it in a positive direction.”

In Nordberg’s two seasons at Centenary, the softball team had a 12-57 overall record and a 9-41 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference mark. This past season, the Ladies improved their batting average nearly 80 points from 2014 (.214 to .293). Anna Dunn led the SCAC with five home runs while she hit .409 to finish fourth in the conference.

“The Ladies softball team is making great strides and competitive improvements,” Seagraves explained.  “We have a solid core of student-athletes returning who are passionate and who have worked extremely hard to improve and become a cohesive unit. Adding to the returners is a great class of first-year players coming in, and I look forward to watching them on the diamond this upcoming season.”
