Gents cross country runs past Louisiana College

TYLER, Texas – The Centenary College men’s and women’s cross country teams kicked off the 2015 season Friday night, September 4, at the UT Tyler / Tyler Lee XC Classic. The men finished ninth, ahead of “Pelican State” rival Louisiana College.

Leading the way for Centenary in 38th place was junior Gregory Simmons, who finished the race in 22:19.11. Not far behind was senior Kellen Bullock, who crossed the line in 23:30.06 to finish 43rd. Freshman Paul Ahuwahlia and senior Arash Ataei finished 49th and 50th, respectively, in 24:23.

Senior David Ahart rounded out the Gent finishers, taking 61st with a time of 29:37.69

On the women’s side, senior Emily Sexton led the way by finishing 44th with a time of 30:48.75. Junior Brittany Wagner and senior Daniela Rueles went 52nd and 53rd with a time of 34:58.10 and 35:40.20. Sophomore Carleigh George finished in 43:20.30 to take 64th.

The Ladies and Gents cross country teams return to action next Friday, September 11th, at the King Campbell Spectacular in Tyler, Texas.
