TYLER, Texas - The Centenary College volleyball team (2-4) fell to UT-Tyler (2-3) in straight sets, 25-18, 25-11, 25-10 Tuesday night, September 8.

Sophomore Desiree Frey led the Ladies with five kills, while senior Lindsay Bruce and freshmen Ashley Brown and Hailey Lawson each contributed three kills.

The Patriots hit nearly .400, compared to .045 for Centenary. Aleja Thomas and Courtney Criswell added eight kills while Emily Robinson contributed 18 digs for the home team.

Sophomore Allison Lazewski came off the bench for eight assists for Centenary.

Centenary College held an early advantage in the first set, but the home team scored four straight points and never looked back. Senior Rachel Perkins and Bruce started off the match with kills. After the Patriots tied the match at four, senior Lindsay Long and Lawson both added kills to put the Ladies back up two. After both teams sided out, Texas-Tyler scored four-straight to flip the score.

After Centenary hit .229 in the first set, it was held to negative the final two sets while Texas-Tyler hit above .400 in set one and three for the win.

The Ladies are back in action Friday and Saturday, September 11-12, at the Millsaps tournament in Jackson, Mississippi.
