SHREVEPORT, LA – First year head coach Justin LeBlanc announced two additions to the Centenary College women’s basketball coaching staff.

Joining LeBlanc will be Kristin Sczublewski and former Gents basketball player Jairus Browning.

“I am very excited about Kristin and Jairus joining our coaching staff,” said LeBlanc. “They both come from successful Division III playing backgrounds that I know will help them in working with our players as they begin their coaching careers. I am very confident they will be great assets to our program, and I am very much looking forward to working with them.”

Sczublewski comes to Shreveport after spending the past two seasons as an assistant girl’s varsity head coach at The Blake School in Minneapolis. She also worked with 43 Hoops Basketball Academy in Minneapolis as a Skill Development Trainer and served as their Operations Administrative Assistant. The past two springs, Sczublewski coached the 43 Hoops 14 and under AAU team (2015) and the 14 and under Crossfire Youth Basketball Team (2014).

Sczublewski graduated in 2012 after a decorated career at the University of Northwestern-St. Paul. In only two seasons with the Eagles, she ranked in six different career categories, including second in assists per game average (4.37). Sczublewski also received Upper Midwest Athletic Conference All-Conference honors her senior year in 2012.

In two seasons with the Eagles, Scublewski scored 440 points, grabbed 226 rebounds, and dished out 227 assists. She graduated with a degree in journalism in 2012.

Jairus Browning is no stranger to Centenary College basketball, playing for the Gents and then-men’s assistant coach Justin LeBlanc from 2011-2014. In three seasons, Browning started 66-of-67 games played, amassing 283 points, 187 rebounds, and 196 assists.

During his senior season in 2014, Browning broke the single-game Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and Gents assist record in a contest against Open Bible College, finishing with 17 dimes.

Browning graduated from Centenary in 2014 with a degree in English.
