SHREVEPORT, La. – The Ladies raced out to an eight-point lead, but the Warriors took a lead early in the second quarter and never trailed the rest of the way as Centenary (2-2) fell to Hendrix (2-1) 85-62 on day two of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference/Southern Athletic Association Classic.

Tied at four, Centenary scored six unanswered to take an early lead. Senior Rebecca Thompson came off the bench and hit a pair of free throws and a layup. Sophomore Samantha Lyons added a jumper after a Thompson rebound. After a Hendrix shot, Lyons hit a triple to put the home team up 13-6 with 3:40 left in the first quarter. Hendrix cut the lead to four, but Thompson added a jumper and free throws to push the lead to eight. Hendrix cut the lead in half heading to the second quarter.

Freshman Jasmine Morris led the Maroon and White in points (21), rebounds (six) and steals (four).

Hendrix went on a 10-0 run into the second quarter to open up a Hendrix seven-point lead. With Centenary up seven, Estrella Flores hit a triple to close out the first quarter. Hailey Bode added a layup and three pointer and Heather Prose added a fastbreak layup to put the visitors up three to begin the second.

Hendrix claimed a 23-point lead thanks to a 53.4 (31-58) shooting percentage from the field. Prowse led the Warriors with 21 points while Caitlyn Kriesel-Bilger added 19 points and seven assists.

Centenary returns to action the Sunday after Thanksgiving with a game against McMurray. Tip is set for 2 p.m.
