Hello Centenary Gymnastics Fans! Thank you for checking in--here’s this week’s Gym Talk, an update on your favorite team!

After a great intrasquad last Sunday, the Centenary Gymnastics team has been working hard in the gym and in the books this past week. We have been working on making improvements in our routines and improving our consistency. Not only have we been focusing on our gymnastics goals, but our team is also working for our academic goals. We’ve been preparing for finals week, which started Monday. Our team’s Core Covenants are Committed, Driven, and Consistent, and we strive to uphold our standards both in the gym and with our studies. We are all working for our team GPA, and I know our focused, diligent team will do great on our finals!

We have been seeing some great improvements in practice this past week! Shout outs to Mackenzie Packer and Navia Jordan for taking important steps with their skills on bars! Allison Scates has been getting more consistent with her huge bar routine; get excited to see some impressive new skills from Al! It’s been awesome to see Aspen Hattley come back from some time off due to an injury. Her powerful vault and tumbling passes are coming back as strong as ever! Ashley White’s yurchenko full on vault has been looking very nice. On beam, Casie Hood has been rocking a new series! All of our floor workers look very strong. Full tumbling passes landed on the floor have been a highlight, and we all have been pushing ourselves on endurance routines and getting strong!

Coach Sylvia has us working hard in preparation for our spectacular floor routines. We have some new choreography on floor as well! Get excited to see a whole lot of dominant gymnastics from our team!! A huge shout-out goes to our amazing coaches, Coach Jackie, Coach Sylvia and Coach Morgan. Their dedication and caring for every single one of us makes a huge impact. We are blessed to have these coaches on our journey as we grow and improve!

We had another two solid practices this past weekend, and we can’t wait for the season to start!

We had one last practice this week on Thursday before we all headed home after our finals were finished for the holiday break. It will be nice to spend some time at home, and then come back rejuvenated and ready to rock as we train with our Centenary Gymnastics family for the rest of the break. The team will return on December 28th to prepare for our first meet! We are so excited to start showing off all the hard work we have been putting in. Stay tuned; we open the season at Utah State on Friday, January 8th! Our first home meet, against Southeast Missouri State, will be Friday January 22nd in the Gold Dome! We cannot wait to see all of our Ladies fans come to cheer us on!

Thank you so much for reading this week’s gym talk. I am beyond thankful to be on this team of fantastic women. Centenary Gymnastics has made me the person I am and I love every moment I get to spend with this team. This season, we will go together towards our dreams, with commitment, drive, and consistency. We’ll see you soon!!
