CONWAY, Ark. – Despite freshman Jasmine Morris becoming the first player in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference this season to be perfect from the charity stripe on double digit attempts, the Ladies could not overcome hot shooting from Hailey Bode off the bench for the Warriors as Centenary (5-5) fell to Hendrix (9-2) 67-56 Wednesday afternoon, December 30, in Conway, Arkansas.

Morris matched the school record for the most free throws made (11-11) without a miss, set by Zebber Satcher in 1981.

Down 11 early in the second quarter, Centenary used the free throw line to score nine unanswered to pull within two. Morris started with an old-fashioned three and then hit a pair from the line after a turnover and Hendrix foul. Senior Briana Edwards then made 4-of-6 from the free throw line as the Maroon and White trailed 25-23 with five minutes left in the half.

Both teams traded baskets before a Bode three and a jumper right gave the home team a 34-27 advantage at break.

Morris led the Ladies with 19 points while Edwards recorded her second double-double in as many games and her third of the season, finishing with 15 points and 14 rebounds.

Hendrix pushed the lead to double digits for good with a 10-0 run at the end of the third through the beginning of the fourth. Sara Dyslin hit a pair of free throws to end the third. Anna King began the fourth with a jumper and Bode and Katy Gallien hit back-to-back threes as Hendrix opened up a 56-39 lead with 8:03 left.

Hendrix only hit 8-of-21 (38.1 percent) from three point for the game, but Bode hit 6-of-7 (85.7 percent) herself and finished with a game-high 20 points off the bench. King also came off the bench for 10 points, seven boards and four assists.

Centenary returns to action in the Gold Dome against Colorado College Saturday and Sunday, January 2-3. The Ladies take on the Tigers at 2 p.m. Saturday and noon on Sunday.
