LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Centenary sophomore Zachary Harrison has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week for his performance this past weekend at the Austin College Invitational Saturday, January 9.

Harrison and the rest of the Gents claimed the title at the invite against a field that included victories against conference rival Austin College and NCAA Division II UT-Permian Basin.

Individually, Harrison took the 100 free by touching the wall in 49.05, nearly two seconds faster than his opponent. In the 200 free, he took second to an NCAA Division II athlete, finishing with a time of 1:49.61.

Harrison was also swam the free leg of the 400 medley relay and in the 400 free relay, both of which captured runner-up honors. Sophomore Anthony McDonald, senior Arash Ataei and fellow Alexandria native, senior Erick Noerem, teamed up in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:45.51. Harrison, Ataei, McDonald and freshman Stetson Carlile finished with a time of 3:23.21 in the free relay.

The Ladies and Gents swim teams return to action Saturday, January 16, for senior day. First event is scheduled for 1 p.m.
