Five Ladies Gymnasts Close out the Season and USAG Nationals

CHARLES, Mo. – The Centenary Ladies gymnastics team will finish off the 2016 season this weekend at the USA Gymnastics Nationals this weekend, April 8-10. The championships are hosted by Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri.

There will be two sessions on Friday where five gymnasts will compete as individuals. During the first session at 2 p.m., senior Kellie Slater will compete on vault and floor. Seniors Noel Stubbs will compete on vault, bars, and beam, while Megan Desjardins will compete on beam and floor.

The Ladies will rotate with Cornell in the first session, as the Maroon and White first compete on bars.

In the second session, beginning at 7 p.m., sophomore Ashley White competes on all four apparatuses. Freshman Navia Jordan performs on beam and floor. Centenary rotates with the home Lions, who begin the session on vault.

All-Americans in the all-around will be determined Friday; however, the top five in every individual event (including ties) advance to Sunday’s event finals. All individuals who advance to Sunday’s event garner All-American honors, but the order of finish determined with Sunday’s results.

Last Week

Sophomore Ashley White became the fourth Centenary gymnast for the fifth time to qualify for the NCAA Regionals. She competed in the Iowa City Regional last Saturday afternoon, April 2, and finished 12th in the all-around with a total of 37.900.
