Monday, April 11, 2016

ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The Centenary College Gymnastic Ladies concluded the 2016 season Sunday, April 10, with the event finals at the USA Gymnastics Championships, hosted by Lindenwood. Sophomore Ashley White competed on both vault and beam, while freshman Navia Jordan performed on floor.

White, who nabbed First Team All-America accolades Friday in the all-around and on vault and beam, began the day on beam. She finished 10th on the event with a 9.775. She received quite the spread from the four judges with a 9.70, 9.75, 9.80, and a 9.85. The best and worst score were dropped, and the two remaining scores were averaged for her 9.775.

White then competed on vault, finishing seventh. On this apparatus, all four scores were averaged together. With three 9.80’s and a 9.75, she finished seventh with a mean of 9.875.

Jordan, who claimed First Team All-America honors on floor after her career-best 9.900 on Friday, finished seventh on the event after receiving a 9.850 from all judges. That would have been her career best on floor if not for her performance on Friday night, the first 9.900 on floor for the Ladies in a decade.
