Ladies Soccer Adds a Pair of Signees for 2016

SHREVEPORT, La. – The Ladies soccer program, under the direction of third-year head coach David Orr, is pleased to announce the additions of Ashley Hein and Taylor Morgan for the 2016 season.

 

Here is a closer look at the new Ladies soccer players:

 

Ashley Hein

Freshman

5-2 / Defender

Bossier City, La. / Airline High School

 

Hein played as a center defender for Airline High School. With the Vikings, she made the All Star West Team, First Team and MVP All-District, and Airline High School MVP. She also played for the club team Cabosa. Academically, Hein received the Dean’s Scholarship and Louisiana Tops 1 Scholarship.

Born is Las Vegas, Nevada, Hein is the daughter of Eric and Krista Hein and has a sister, Grace, and a brother, Matthew. At Centenary, she is leaning toward majoring in pre-medicine.

Coach Orr on Ashley: We’ve followed Ashley for a while now. Ashley comes from a good soccer background and good coaching. She is going to be a great addition to the Ladies Soccer program.

Hobbies: Reading

Favorite Athlete: Julie Johnson

 

 

Taylor Morgan

Freshman

5-4 /Forward

Pineville, La. / Pineville High School

 

Morgan played forward and an attacking mid-fielder for head coach Dwain Sketo at Pineville High School. A Captain for the Rebels soccer team for her senior season, Morgan earned First Team All-Cenla. She was named Second Team All-District in 2014, along with First Team All-Cenla accolades and Honorable Mention All-District in 2013. In 2012, she helped her club team, the Crossroads Soccer Association Pride U18 Girls, finish as a State Finalist.

She will attend Centenary after a much decorated high school academic resume. At Pineville, she made the A/B Honor Roll, IBC Certification, the Alexandria Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi as one of the top 25 Scholars in Rapides and Avoyelle Parishes, took honors classes all four years, took dual enrollment and advanced placement classes, and is a Level Silver on Workkeys.

The daughter of Pamela Morgan, Taylor Morgan was originally from Kansas City, Missouri. At Centenary, she intends to major in biology.

Coach Orr on ATaylor: Taylor is an exceptional athlete and person. When Taylor was first introduced to the current Centenary Ladies’ players, she immediately became a member of the Centenary family, as she and the Centenary players immediately hit it off. Taylor is going to be a great attacking addition to our team and we are excited to have her!

Hobbies: Drawing/Sketching

Pre-Game Superstition: She cannot play without her headbands or bandanas.
