ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Centenary Gents golf team sits second after day one of the Louisiana College Fall Invite at the par-72 Alexandria Country Club on Monday, Sept. 19. The Maroon and White shot a 319 (+31) for the day, and sit four strokes behind leader Louisiana College.

Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference-foe Dallas placed third, one stroke behind the Gents with a first day total of 320 (+32). Belhaven rounded out the field with a 340 (+52) on day one.

"Alexandria Country Club is a tricky golf course and it got us at times," explained head coach Emlyn Aubrey. "The good thing is that we shot our lowest score in a year and no one was real happy with their individual score. So, we definitely room for improvement, but a decent round to kick off the year."

Sophomore Edvard Granrud paced Centenary with a 77 (+5) on the day to sit tied for fourth, one stroke behind Louisiana College’s Joe Bourque and four strokes behind leader Tyler Schleigle from Belhaven. Freshman Brodey Warner is one stroke behind Granrud (78, +6) and is tied for sixth while classmate Reed Balcerowicz fired an 80 (+8) and finished the round in eighth.

Junior Graham Maxwell shot an 84 (+12) and sophomore Henry Llorence carded an 87 (+15) to sit 12th and 15th after day one.

Centenary returns to action tomorrow morning for the final round of the Louisiana College Fall Invite.
