Freshman Kendall Arasmith Provides this Week's Gym Talk!

Hey Centenary gymnastics fans!

This is freshman Kendall Arasmith bringing you my first ever gym talk!

The Ladies have been pushing harder than ever to be in the best shape possible before we all go home for Thanksgiving break in just one short week! Saturday, Coach Jackie came in to the gym with a bunch of goals that she put on the board. I’ve learned this is a Ladies tradition to put up goals we want to accomplish before we leave. So now, we each have at least one goal on the board which we are working hard to accomplish before we go home for Thanksgiving break. These goals will take us one step closer to our bigger goal of competing for a national championship, and having them up on the board in writing is motivation to make it happen!

Last week, we mixed things up in conditioning by doing a spin workout as a team. It was really fun and a great way to work our legs without any impact. Shout out to Liz for learning to keep her feet on the pedals! We are also continuing our swim workouts on Friday mornings to help us with our cardio and overall strength. I’m so proud of Cami Bea for swimming like a fish every time she gets in the pool.

The last few weeks have been exciting as people keep coming into the gym with new choreography. It is so fun to see what kind of crazy things Coach Jackie comes up with as we get our first peek at everyone’s new routines. I’ve got to say the Ladies are killing it. I love watching my teammates work hard on the floor and showing off their dance.

The Ladies ended the week with recruit visits. We all enjoyed spending some time with prospective future teammates and showing them around campus.

Be sure to tune in next week to keep up with the Ladies’ progress!
