SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary gymnastics team posted six personal best routines and the second-best team total of the season (191.300), but Texas Woman’s beat BYU in the tri-meet 195.625-195.400 on Saturday night, February 11, in Denton, Texas.

In the all-around, junior Ashley White turned in a season-best 39.000 total to finish third – the third time she has hit 39 in her collegiate career. Sophomore Tavia Smith received personal bests in the all-around (37.975), on vault (9.625), and on beam (9.650).

Freshman Cami Bea Austin’s 9.650 on vault was a career high, while sophomore Elizabeth Sander accomplished that feat on beam (9.725).

Freshman Evelyn Harris finished second among Ladies gymnasts in her first competition on bars with a 9.550.

As a team, Centenary recorded a season high on vault with a 47.900 – the highest road vault score for the Ladies in three seasons. The 48.075 on beam and 48.425 on floor marked the second-highest scores on those apparatuses this season.

Schyler Jones for Texas Woman’s won on vault (9.875) and in the all-around (39.300), while Mackenzie Douglas of BYU won on floor with a 9.900. Mallory Moredock and Bria Northrop of the Pioneers both won on beam with a 9.825. Brittni Wilde of the Cougars won on bars with a 9.950, including receiving a 10 from one judge.

Centenary returns to action Friday night, February 17, when it travels to Cape Girardeau, Missouri, to take on Southeast Missouri State. First rotation is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
