SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary softball team returns to the diamond this weekend as part of the Millsaps College Invitational. The Ladies open the invite at 12 p.m. against the host Majors followed by a 2 p.m. outing against Webster on Saturday, Mar. 2

The two-day event concludes with a 10 a.m. start against Webster followed by a 2 p.m. affair with MC.

Centenary dropped four games in the Louisiana College Round Robin last weekend, including a pair to Millsaps. Lauren Swift led Centenary with a .600 batting average with a team-best, six hits. Registered two homeruns – tied for the team lead. The Beaumont, Texas, native ranked second on the team in RBI with three and totaled a hit in all four contests, including a double. Cadie Hancock led the squad with five RBI and ranked second on the team with a .571 batting average. The duo combined for three homeruns in the last day of action.

On the season, Swift leads the squad with a .571 batting average and has registered a team-leading eight hits while Hancock paces the team in RBI with five on the campaign. Hancock has posted a .308 clip at the dish. In the circle, Lynsi Unruh has tossed 20.1 innings and registered a team-best 13 strikeouts.

Following the weekend’s action, the Ladies return to the Centenary Softball Complex on Monday, Mar. 4 against Evangel. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 4 p.m.
