IRVING, Texas – As with every series at this time of the season, Centenary softball (11-19, 8-8 Southern Collegiate Athletic) faces a big weekend when it travels to Dallas (9-23, 4-12 SCAC) Thursday night and Friday afternoon, April 13-14.

Already having clinched an SCAC Tournament berth, if Centenary wins the series and Trinity at best splits (against #10 Texas Lutheran), the Ladies will can be no worse than the fourth seed and will be the home team for their first-round contest.

In the Rankings

When the teams meet on the field this weekend, it could be a busy for both team’s catchers. Centenary ranks 20th in the nation with 2.53 stolen bases per game, while Dallas sits 51st with 1.91 stolen bases per game.

Individually, sophomore Wendy Gillet is fifth with four sacrifice flies this season.

In the SCAC, sophomores Nichole Aldridge and Lauren Beadle are fourth and fifth with a 2.51 and 2.92 ERA, respectively. Sophomore Payton LeBlanc is fifth with 21 stolen bases, while Aldridge easily leads the conference with three saves.

 

Next Up

The Ladies wrap up the regular season next weekend, April 22-23, with a four-game set at Schreiner. The Mountaineers are currently third in the SCAC with a 10-6 record, two games ahead of Centenary.
