SEGUIN, Texas – In a vote of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference softball coaches released at the Conference Tournament Friday night, April 28, eight Centenary Ladies were named to the 2017 All-Conference Teams squads.

Junior Kelsey Ancelot, who leads the team in batting average (.433) and on-base percentage (.469), was named First Team All-Conference as an outfielder. After a three-year hiatus from 2013-2015 with no First Team accolades for the Maroon and White, this is the second-straight season a Ladies softball player was given this distinction (junior Haley Miller as a utility player last season).

Joining Ancelot on the all-conference team is sophomore second baseman Payton LeBlanc on the Second Team. She leads the SCAC and sits 24th in the country with 33 stolen bases, the third-most in program history for a single season. Classmate Nichole Aldridge, who received Honorable Mention All-Conference accolades last season, received Second Team honors as a pitcher. Aldridge leads the conference with four saves and is fourth in strikeouts (87) and fifth in wins (nine).

Senior Lizzie Moran, junior Anna Dunn, and sophomore Wendy Gillet appeared on the Honorable Mention All-Conference squad. Moran is second on the team with a .338 batting average. Dunn, the 2015 SCAC Freshman of the Year, leads the team in home runs (three), RBI’s (25) and hits (34), and ranks third with a .312 batting average.

Gillet, a Second Team honoree in 2017, leads the nation with eight sacrifice flies. She also co-leads the team with 25 RBI’s.

Centenary returns to action Saturday, April 29, at 10 a.m. against fourth-seeded Schreiner.
