Former Ladies softball player Whitney Patterson (2013-14) begins her third season as an assistant coach for the 2017 season.

With the program, her primary responsibilities are working with the outfielders and with the slap hitters, as well as the off-season weight and conditioning programs.

In her Maroon and White career as an infielder, Patterson started all 76 games she appeared in with a .235 batting average (51-for-217) with 24 runs scored, 22 RBI’s, 12 doubles and one home run.

She had a game-best three hits twice, both against Southwestern. She went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI in a Ladies 10-7 win March 22, 2013. On March 23 a year later, she scored the tying run and drove in the winning run in a 2-1, 9-innings. She had three hits in five at-bats in the contest.

Her senior season in 2014, Patterson also appeared eight times in the circle with two starts.

Patterson in a 2014 Centenary graduate with a degree in psychology. She currently resides in Shreveport.
