SHREVEPORT, La. – The Ladies won the first two sets off the nightcap, but the YellowJackets won the next two sets and held a 12-8 lead in the fifth.

However, Centenary (15-18) took the next 8-of-9 points to win the set and final regular season match against LeTourneau (10-22) 25-9, 25-22, 22-25, 25-16, 15-13 to end the Halloween Tournament Saturday, October 28.

Centenary lost its first match of the day to Millsaps (15-13), 17-25, 25-22, 26-24, 25-18.

Down 12-8 in the fifth, a service error put senior Allison Lazewski on serve. First, junior Hailey Lawson hit a kill and then Lazewski had her serve hit the net and trickle over for an ace. LeTourneau then shot for the side and hit the ball way out to tie the match and force a timeout. Lauren Egby-McNeal found a seam down the middle for the YellowJackets for their final lead, but a kill from Lawson tied the match.

Juniors Makenzie Shaw and Michaela Brantley broke LeTourneau’s serve with a block to put the Ladies on set point. A YellowJackets error ended the match and gave Centenary the victory.

Senior Desiree Frey played her final match in the Gold Dome and had 16 kills and 28 digs.
